A day out with Sean and Marissa...

Today I took Sean and Marissa with me to do errands. We left out this morning and our first stop was at a donut café. They each got a powdered donut and a glazed one. Well lets just say they were wearing the powder. There were several funnies of the day. Some of course were a “had to be there” thing but I’ll share some.

Marissa was reaching back to Sean to get a movie from him and she somehow snagged it from him and said, “I’m too good to be true”!

This time Sean was in front and we were driving along and for some reason we were talking about deer and beef jerky. Sean loves it and I was telling him that I used to make deer jerky a lot. I told him I made some spicy and some not. Here is where it gets funny and just imagine him with wide eyes, goofy expression on his face, hands and arms flying and a very excited voice. He said that he don’t like spicy. I said, “Oh, I like spicy…hey, I’m spicy”! With arms waving he said, “Ahh naah”! I said, “Well, dad thinks I’m spicy”! He said, “He can think that…you’re his wife! You’re my mom! A son has a different kind of love for the mom! There are two kinds of love, wife…mom!” I absolutely cracked up! It was SO funny!

Then, the kids had said they we to a restaurant and had tacos. I thought they meant they went to a Mexican place but the area they were talking about I could not think of one in that area. So I told them to show me where it was since we were in that area. So, Sean told me to turn right…then there is a stop sign and you go diagonal across the road into a one way alley….then you turn right down another small alley for a block and you come to a road where there are several restaurants. Sean told me to turn left. I said “Sean, I did not have to go down those 2 tight alleys, I could have just turned town the main road”. He said, “I know, I just wanted to go down the alley and see if you would go where I said”. What a bugger! I had been down that alley several times before but this time was quiet funny. He pointed out the place they ate and it was NOT a Mexican place. I said, “I thought you guys said it was a Mexican place”. He said, “No, I said we had tacos”!

They are a hoot! Between their saying and facial expressions, you can’t help buy laugh! Too funny! They are my babies!

If you saw the pics of the house you saw the small pond we have. Well, we decided to put fish in it. First I must tell you that in our large pond, we have THOUSANDS of gold fish from itty bitty to very big. However, you cannot net them. It is dang near impossible. Anyway, we went to Wal-Mart and ‘bought’ fish! So we got the fish after church on Sunday, put the bag they were in into the water and after 30 minutes we set them free in the pond. (1 large gold fish and a sucker fish…well that’s not the proper name but it sucks algae so I call it the sucker fish) I also put water conditioner in the pond and it turned the pond a horrible cloudy dark color. Monday morning, we could not see the fish. We used the net and tried and tried to find it but we were just sure that something ate it. Well, tonight, we saw it in the pond. The pond is still cloudy but the fish came up to the top for the first time. Yeah….our fish is alive. I want to name it but I don’t know how to tell if it is a boy or girl!?!? Maybe we can think of a name that goes either way.

Well, that’s it for today. Now that the house is finished, maybe I will have time to back track and talk about some subjects that I mentioned in past blogs. Stay tuned…who knows what’s coming up…Could be about you!

Home alone...

On Sunday Larry said to me, "What are you going to do tomorrow? You don't have to paint and clean!? Even Molly is not here! You need to rest. You have been going for 3 years and you need rest!"Sooo...

MONDAY...My furry baby is home! Molly went to her Nana Beckies for the weekend while we had the open house. Today she came home. Beckie takes great care of her and we are so greatful. Larry picked Molly up at her house and when they got to our house I was outside. Larry stopped the car where I was and he was holding Molly under her belly. She was doing mid air running trying to get to me. Of course that made me smile pretty big! I opened the passenger door and got Molly. She gave me loves and sugars and wiggled so much that I was affraid I would drop her. She was glad to see her Mommy and her Mommy was glad to see her!

About my Monday....Well, it was weird. For a very long time I have been painting, moving stuff, decorating, etc. Now, of course there are little things left to do but for the most part it is DONE. How weird for me! I had an errand to run today but other than that, I didn't have a long 'to do' list. How odd! I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep. I did my errands. I watched some TV shows that I had recorded on the DVR. I did laundry and actually washed, dried, folded/hung up them and put them in their places without letting them stay in the dryer or on the bed forever. My point is, I started and finished a daily chore within a few hours time. When your doing all the stuff we have been doing, it is a big deal just to do something simple like that. It's so cool having the day to day things done without rushing like a mad woman! Wow, it was hard to do them at a normal pace instead of rushing so I could get to the next project.

OK OK...I'm shutting up! I need to join my sweet hubby since he is probably snoring and counting his 5,000th sheep by now.

I hope all of you have a great night sleep and a wonderful day on Tuesday!

House is Finished....Open House!

The house is FINISHED!!!! Praise the Lord! There are a few little things we need to do but very very minor. Well, the open was okay but not super great. Really, it was our fault. We put the open house on our local site and we had a sign in the yard BUT we did not get it in the paper in time. Unless someone shows up with a big fat check this week, we will have another open house next weekend and do better with the advertising. However, the doctor and his wife that I mentioned before came today to see the house. They brought our pastors wife with them and they are looking too. Just getting the word out is a good thing. We also have our house on a military site and on owners.com. So for those of you who have not visited us and wants to see our house…oops that would be everyone EXCEPT my Momma and my life long friend Cher! Ha! Joking! (Well, kinda joking.) Anyway, you can see it at owners.com/wtw3693. We are proud of the work we have done and it is sad to leave our sweat equity behind.

I tell you, I am SO enjoying our house being finished and clean! I moved from GA in Sept. 05, went back to GA until the wedding on Oct. 22. From them until Friday July 19, 2008 our house has been a wreck. Well, we finished the living room and our bed room for sanity sake but otherwise a mess. I am SOOOO excited and relieved. It is funny, for the last 2 days, every time we use a glass or a fork, or anything; Larry has been washing, drying and putting them away. Cool huh!? I was thinking, hey, this could work pretty well for me! Hahahaha! Today, he was getting crushed ice from the ice dispenser and some pieces fell into the tray underneath. He pulled the tray out, got a paper towel and was drying it off. He stopped, looked over at me and said, “I am drying off the freakin’ ice tray thing…I ‘m becoming you!” I told him that even I was not that bad. We had a big laugh!

It’s now Sunday evening and the weird thing is, we are not painting, cleaning, moving stuff, etc. Don’t get me wrong, we have a storage room full of stuff to go through but the feeling of looking around and not feeling guilty about spending 15 minutes on the Internet is a great feeling indeed.
I will chat with you later and keep you posted on the sell of the house. We are nervous but we have to trust that God has a plan and he has a family out there that will take this home that we have worked so hard in and love it like we do.

Finally, the pressure washing is DONE!

Another exhausting day! We pressure washed the house and it was an all day job! I had to take a break and take Catherine to the doctor for her Immunization update so she can start college the end of August. Once I was back home I took over and let Larry take a break. We took turns to try to prevent either of us making a mess of our backs. We have a separate 3 car garage that has a metal roof. Well, it was black and needed washing very bad. So we got Sparkys bucket truck and Larry crawled inside. I was in control of all the knobs and switches. He would yell down to me what to do to maneuver him where he needed to be. It’s not easy. You would think it would be just, up, down, side to side but it’s a little more complicated than that. I was sitting on a block working the controls and when Larry would get to the edge of the roof the water would spray me and I was drenched! I pretty much stayed that way all day…even my hair was soaked! Anyway, it’s done and we saved the $450 that was quoted for our house to be pressure washed. My daddy would be so proud. His little girl was using that machine like a pro. I thought about him most of the day again today. I know that when you get to Heaven your not supposed to know grief, pain, sadness or tears therefore, people don’t’ “look down” on us because the world is full of all those things. But, I so hope that my daddy could see us today. I don’t know why and it probably sounds dumb but I think he would have a big ole’ grin on his face and those chubby cheeks would be full of chuckles. I so hope that he would be proud of the woman, wife and mother I have become. I also hope that he knows that I have a wonderful husband and that I finally got it right!

Ok, enough of that, I’m crying now. I miss him so much!

I’m off to dream land. We have to wake up around 4:20. Larry is taking Cat and Laura to church. They are going to Colorado for a youth camp. (Please pray for safe travel.) Then he will come back home and leave for work a little later. A big weekend is coming up…stay tuned!

Gutters...to clean or not to clean!?

Well today I thought a lot about my Daddy. Larry and I began pressure washing our house. ( If you didn't know, my parents had a very successful pressure washing business.) Actually, we started cleaning out the gutters. Yeah...NOT! Larry just HAD to buy a special device with a curve to clean the gutters. So, picture this....Larry is on the ground with the nozzle...I am up on a 12 ft. ladder at the end of the gutter that connects to the down spout. I had on those thick yellow gloves like you wash dishes with. Anyway, he was sending the goop down to me and I'm pushin' it in the down spout. It was horrible! We have the gutter guards to keep the big stuff out. However, we had the shingles replaced last summer and the gritty stuff went down in the gutter and it had to be forced out. What a sight we were! We were both soaking wet. Since I was 'up top with the action' I had splatters of grit all over me. I looked like Larry The Cable Guys sister he calls Holy Moley! Hahaha! Sparky came and sat just watching us. People always seem to find Larry and I entertaining!? After we finished the gutters we got out the pressure washer and made sure that everything was working properly. I got the nozzle and started spraying...I just LOVE watching all the dirt run off! I love clean! We will do the house on Thursday and get it shined up for the open house. Back to my daddy...I could just see him. How many times did I watch him work. More times than I can count. I was thinking, what if he were here. I know exactly how it would be...He would be wearing his work shirt, a hat, have a chew of tobacco in, have his arms crossed and would stand with his feet shoulder width apart watching our every move. However, within no time, he would just take over. Some people would see a dirty house and think yuck...my daddy said a dirty house looked like money to him. He washed feed trucks and when he come home smelling like the feed we would say shew you stink. He would say, smells like money to me. What a character he was.

Oh my goodness, I am so exhausted I can barely type. I'm sure I've made some spelling errors and I'm not real sure if any of this makes sense. Oh well...don't sweat the small stuff!

Sabbath!

Looking at this picture of Molly can't you just hear her say, "What you talkin' bout Willis"? Hahaha!

Molly giving Mommy Loves!

Well we didn't show the house over the weekend. One family was away at a church youth camp and the other family was on a cruse. Oh well, if and when they call they can come see the house. Tonight I put the house on our local Internet site. We are still planning to have an open house this weekend unless someone shows up with a big fat check! Please pray for the sale of the house and for some decisions we have to make. I know the house will sell and we will be moving forward but the unknown of when is scary.

It has been SO HOT and humid. I water my flowers everyday and I am thinking I am going to have to water them twice a day. By the late afternoon they are drooping and wilting. Our tomato plants are doing well. We planted them a little late so they are just now producing. From our large cherry vines we have picked 2 and right now have about a dozen or more that are about ready. The Better Boys are just not getting babies on them. It took them a long time to start producing but when they did, boom...there they were, about 8 of them. There are tons of itty bitty cucumbers but none for the pickin'. Speaking of tomatoes, last weekend I made fried green tomatoes! Larry is hooked! I must admit they were soooo yummy! I bought them from a man down the road that sells produce out of the back of his pickup truck. I stopped in one day but he had forgotten to put them on his truck. I told him I would come another day. A few days later Larry and I stopped by and when I walked up he clapped his hands and said, "I've been waitin' on you alllllday"! He was such a cute and sweet old man. Reminded me of my Papa so much.

Larry's best friend, we call him Tac, is in Iraq. Larry heard from him and he is doing well. He just went home for R&R and he is half way though his deployment. Thank you Lord for his safety this far and continue to shelter him from harm.

Larry and I are so drained. I am just praying for strength to keep going. At the church we are going to, Pastor Bob is doing a series on The 10 Commandments. Sunday before last, the sermon at church was on the Sabbath which means rest. One of the points was that it don't just mean on Sunday we should rest but that we need rest daily. We all say, ok I'll do this much more then I'll stop...ok, after this I'll stop...if I keep working at it I can finish it....then by the time we know it, it is midnight and we are not getting the rest we need to begin another day. I can't even begin to sum the service up for you but boy did it hit home with us. We did work in the house after church that day. We talked about it on the way home from church and both of our thoughts were that our time is limited and God understand that we need to paint the porch today. At the end of the day we were draggin' big time! Well, this past Sunday Larry said, "Today, we are taking a Sabbath. We are going to rest because it's the right thing to do". So we went to church then had Mexican food for lunch. We goofed off around the house but didn't "work". Then today, Monday, I had to go by where Catherine is volunteering and give her some money and Lauras Bible. I stuck the money inside the Bible and went out to leave. When I sat inside the Mountaineer I opened the Bible to make sure I had not dropped the money out along the way. When I opened the Bible to where I had randomly placed the money, guess what was the first word I saw in BOLD print...."Sabbath"! Out loud I said, "Ok Lord, I hear ya". I read the first couple verses, closed the Bible and smiled because I knew he was making sure I "Got It"!

I had no idea that I was going to write all of this. I had no intention of talking about this but before it knew it, I had already written it. Maybe someone reading my blog needs to be reminded to "Sabbath". Or, maybe it was Gods way of double checking me!?!?

OK, time for me to R-E-S-T! Goodnight...Sweet Dreams!

The clock is ticking....

Got an email from Momma...you know what that means!

Work...work...work! We are working ourselves to death and today we talked my brother-in-law, Terry, to come help. Terry bush hogged some of the pasture which helped out a lot while Larry cut the grass. Larry did a lot more than just cut the grass, though cutting our grass is no small task. Me, well I did a lot of odd jobs, you know the luxury ones like; Cleaned windows, cleaned base boards, puttied-sanded-painted some areas that needed to be touched up, touch up paint, hung some things on the wall, etc, etc, etc! OH...the BIG thing of the day...the guy came and fixed our shower tile where the grout was cracking and replaced a cracked tile. We have been waiting on him to do this FOOOOREEVVVEERRR! Downfall, we had to take a shower upstairs which is never the same as your own shower.

Today was Terry's birthday and we took him out to dinner. Of course then to Lowe's! Also today, Catherine got her braces on. Of course she is having discomfort to say the least.

Well, like I said in an earlier blog, we are hoping to show the house this weekend to 2 families. I have not heard back from them so I am not positive that they are coming. We are SO hopeful that one of them makes a great offer and it's a done deal. If not, we are hoping to have an open house next weekend.

Larry and I are looking forward to having some down time. Once the house sells we will still have to make decisions on our housing at Ft. Riley and plan the move BUT to be able to sit down in the evenings and watch TV or sit out on the deck or shop somewhere besides Lowe's...Ahhhh what small pleasures that would make such a difference in our lives. We need time to "Breath".

Please pray for the sell of the house and for our strength to finish this chapter in our lives and be rested for the next chapter.

Catching Up...

It’s been a few days and I thought I had better update the blog before my Momma calls or sends me an email reminding me.

Well, Saturday we made a trip to the recycle center to haul off some junk. It’s always nice to spend your Saturday at a place with junk everywhere and watching lot of odd folks. Before I get hate mail, all people that recycle and people that work there are not all odd. However, you never know what you will see; there are a lot of interesting people in this world. I guess the man that won the “Most Odd” award was a gentleman with a t-shirt on that was way too short and tight for him. His pants were held up by suspenders. The kicker is, his belly hung down from under the shirt and over the button of his pants. To paint a better picture…we saw skin…and it was NOT pretty! My question is, did his Momma not teach him about appearance. I mean, you don’t have to get dressed up everywhere you go but wearing a shirt that covers ones belly is a must in my book! Momma always said, “The way you, Tim and your Daddy look when you leave this house is a reflection of me”! Oh, if I had a dime for every time I heard that one. Hmm, that could be a whole other blog…I can see the title now…Things Momma Said! Ok, I didn’t mean to say all that but you know me, sometimes, I just can’t help myself. (Oh, I know Larry will leave a comment on that one!)

Sunday we went to the early service at church. After lunch we painted our front porch railing and columns. It was a nice day for it. It looks so much better. Normally it’s me who is writing the ‘to-do’ list but this time it was Larry. I was SO not wanting to paint another thing inside or outside of this house! He was right, it needed it, so we painted and I’m glad we did. It looks great! Later Sunday night we got a wild hair. We have an old wood chair in our bedroom that has ugly fabric on it not to mention it don’t match our room, or any of our rooms. It is hard to explain what it looks like but anyway, we started taking off the fabric and the million staples that were holding it on. I’m going to refinish it. Like I need another project! What am I thinkin’? This might be a project to be finished once we get to Manhattan!

Monday…Larry is back at work and the kids are at their moms so it was just me and Molly. I cleaned out our closet; packed up stuff, made a give away pile, straightened things, etc. trying to make it look nice and big. It took a looong time! After dinner, Larry and I took the knobs off the kitchen cabinets, scrubbed the cabinets and put on new knobs. What a difference new knobs make!

Well, that catches everyone up. I know, not too exciting. Have a great week!

Friday...

Well, today has been semi productive but also sad. This was the kids last day with us. They should be staying the entire month of July. I know this probably sounds terrible but you would just have to be in our shoes to understand but…we have got to get the final projects complete and the house cleaned top to bottom so we can begin to show it. With four kids, it’s hard to do what needs to be done and keep things tidy. There are two families that are interested in the house and we want to have them come before they make other decisions. I am so hopeful that by next weekend that we can show the house to those families and if they are not serious then maybe we can have an open house the following weekend.

Back to the kids. They were sad when they left tonight. They did not want to go and also they were sad that this might be the last time they would stay with us in ‘this’ house. Since I come along and made this house into a comfortable home, they love the house almost as much as they love being with us. They have room here and are not so cramped. They are very cramped at their moms and have limited TV and very little computer time. Here, they have plenty of space, satellite and ample computer time. It’s two totally different atmospheres...from A to Z. Ok enough of that…just please keep them in your prayers!

We are SO tired. It is SO time to go to bed!!!!! Love to all and more later.

Prayer Request: Please continue to remember Tim and Connie during your prayer time. Aunt Carol really needs prayer and lifting up. I mentioned Sandra a few days ago…she still needs pray for strength, guidance and peace.

Update of Birthday Fireworks...

I just had to give an update before going to bed. If you read the blog I did earlier you know that we were going to shoot the remainder of fireworks that were left over from the 4th. Well, Marissa is terrified of fireworks. She thinks they are pretty but she don't like to be around them. She had rather watch them on TV, where it's safe! Well, I had a chair in the field watching the fireworks and guess where Marissa was? Hiding behind my chair! I got up to take pictures from another angle and took her picture. She was not crazy about me taking her picture but who could resist?! (Marissa aka Missy or Itty Bitty)
How Cute! My Baby Girl!

Happy Bithday My Prince

Molly's helping daddy play ball on his birthday!

Today is my precious, handsome husband’s birthday. Happy birthday my Prince! After dinner tonight we gave him gifts from the kids and me. Later tonight we are going to shoot off fireworks that we have left over from the 4th.

Who will get the ball first...Molly or Daddy?

Mommy...I got the ball!

Today I got belated birthday gifts from Amy and Sandra today. Larry said that it was not fair that I got gifts on his birthday. I laughed and opened them anyway. (Of course he was joking)

Today the kids played water whiffle ball again. Larry and I were out there with them and this time we took Molly out with us. She was SOOOOO funny! She ran and ran and ran and ran!!!! She ran so fast that she kept tripping over herself and falling. We put her in the little pools but of course she did not like that and she hopped out quickly. We tried to get her to run down the slip-n-slide but she was not too excited about that either. She is fluffy when she is dry but when she is wet…she looks tiny and oh so funny! I am telling you…we all laughed until we almost pee’d our pants. Every time the ball was hit or someone threw it, Molly thought they were playing with her and she would run after it. She also ran for the bat when they would throw it after hitting. FUNNY! The kids had a blast again today. I tell you…I paid $5 for each of the 3 bases, $10 for the slip-n-slide home base and $10 for a 6 pc ball set. That was $35 well spent! The fun they had was priceless.

Well, it’s getting close to show time so I need to get some things done before we start the show. I am just praying that I don’t have to run from a ball of flame tonight. I don’t want 2 burns on my arm like Beckie got on the 4th. Also, our friends Randy and Sharon were shooting off fireworks on the 5th and one went in their rabbit and geese shed and burned down. So, I am always a little nervous about having fireworks close to my house. We need to sell it, not burn it down.

Talk again soon…

Parr Fun Day!!!!!

Our 4...

Catherine...

Laura...

Sean...

Marissa...

The Entire Gang...

WOW…Today was “Parr Fun Day”! What is that you ask…it is a day for the kids and the kids inside Larry & me. We wound up with 12 kids! There were supposed to be more but there were a few that could not make it at the last minute. Also our neighbors could not come at the last minute and we just hated that, they are great kids.
The day started with us preparing for the party. We were running around of course. One by one the kids started piling in. Ok, first a run down of the kids who were here; (our 4) Catherine, Laura, Sean, Marissa…then add Chelsie, Jordan, Michael, Lonnie, Zack, Mariah, Morgan & Kaye Lynn. They played water whoofle ball…OMG…so fun and so funny! Ok, the bases were blow up swimming pools filled with water and home plate was a slip-n-slide that ended in a pool. Larry was the pitcher and I was the picture taker. We ALL had a blast! They slid into the bases and of course water went everywhere! I kept filling the bases up. Catherine did a split with one foot in second base and the other on the ground. On opposite teams, Laura and Marissa were 3rd base girls. Every time I looked over at them all I could see was their heads; they were laying in the pool. They all fell, turned flips, done splits…you name it, and they did it. Of course they were ALL starving! We had dinner around 5pm. We had hamburgers and hotdogs. After we ate we started a water balloon toss. You know, where you have a partner and you toss balloons back and forth. Each time you toss it, you take a step back and you get farther and farther away. If your balloon pops, you’re out. The team the furthest away without popping the balloon wins. That went on for a while! Then we had desert. Oh my goodness…those kids ate a LOT! Then they went back to the ball game area but wound up spraying each other with the water hose and sliding on the slip-n-slide.
Sean had a baseball game at 8pm so at 7 we had them to slow down and get ready to go. Larry left with Lonnie and Sean to take them to the game. I took the others along with Noah, our neighbor that we so wanted to be at the party. Noah and his sister Hannah had things to do and couldn’t make it to the party. (I have a feeling that they will be here on Thursday catching up on what they missed.) Anyway, Noah wanted to go to Sean’s game and then spend the night. Mariah was going to spend the night with Marissa. Well, I was taking Kaye Lynn home and she did not want to go home. SO, she is spending the night too.
When we got home from the game they wanted some dirt pudding and watermelon. They cleaned out the dirt pudding! I made TWO batches and ALL of it is G-O-N-E! About an hour later, they all come to us and said they were hungry! What?! Hungry!? So, they had Little Debbie’s, Doritos, cookies and popcorn. (Of course they did not all have all of those things but that is what was on the snack menu.) As of now there are 3 girls in the living room on the sofa and air mattress. Cat is in her own room. Laura, Sean and Noah are in the kids’ area in the basement playing video games and will wind up falling to sleep watching TV down there. 7 kids total…and Mommy and Daddy are pooped!
It was such a great day for all of us. We wanted to do something special for the kids before we sell the house. I think we accomplished that! Larry and I are pleased with the way the day went. The kids were too. We are so glad that they had a great day and hope that it is memorable. I want them to be in their 20’s, 30’s 40’s, etc. and be telling the story of today!
That’s it for “Parr Fun Day”! I can’t even begin to tell all that happen or all the fun. Anyway, it was good for the kids…and good for Larry and me.

Shopping Spree

This is the kids on the 4th.

Larry was on leave a few days last week and 4 days this week but he had to work today. I took Laura and Marissa with me to Lee’s Summit and Independence. I had some shopping to do for some odds and ins we needed to finish up with our home décor/staging our house. We left home just before 9am and we got back home around 5:30pm. What a long day! On the way home we were counting the number of stops we made including getting fuel, lunch, paying my speeding ticket plus the shopping…we made 14 stops before pulling into our driveway!!!!! I had to do some returns to Kohl’s and an exchange. Of course they did not have what I needed for the exchange which was for Laura! So, that leads to looking at clothes…and buying clothes! Of course I have trained them well…Check The CLEARENCE Rack First! We got Laura a cute pair of shorts and shirt. Marissa got some adorable plaid shorts but we had to go elsewhere for a matching top but we got one. So they have new outfits to wear to the “Parr Fun Day”. I am VERY even with the spending so of course Cat and Sean will be going to get new stuff within the next couple days.
We found great deals at Hobby Lobby which is one of my favorite places. We went to 2 Wal-Marts!? You should have seen us at the first one…I had a buggy full of stuff including an artificial tree. (The kids laugh at me because I call it a buggy and not a shopping cart…Whatever!) Most of the items were large and you would have just had to be there to see how funny we looked. We had a hard time pushing the buggy and seeing around the tree! Too funny! Of course I had no intention of cooking dinner so our last and final stop, stop #14, was to pick up pizza. After dinner Larry and I headed out to Lowe’s. UGH! I’m tired of shopping and spending!! However, we had 2 coupons for $10 off so we rang up separate and used them both. I LOVE to save money!
Tuesday will be filled with running around getting ready for the Fun Day on Wed. (We moved it from Tues. to Wed.) Of course we have our normal to-do list filled with house stuff. Like I said in the last blog or two, we are on a down hill slide and things are slowly coming together. We have one more major project to finish which is getting our shower door ordered and installed. Long story about that, I won’t go there, I’ll get mad! We got our hardware ordered for the kitchen cabinets. All the stuff left to do are little things but they have to get done.
I feel terrible because I’ve not had time to stay in touch with family and friend but I know everyone understands. I also know that you all will be glad it’s completed so I will stop bloggin’ about our house junk. Just think, next you can look forward to me griping about trying to sell it! Hahahaha!
I love you all!

The 4th

I hope that everyone had a great 4th! We grilled country style ribs and we also had baked beans, slaw, pasta salad and of course mac-n-cheese for the kids. We had home made peach ice cream for desert. Yum Yum! My friend Beckie came to share the day with us and of course our 6 plus Sparky and Terry. When Beckie got here Molly went crazy and ran to her. She brought us a BEAUTIFUL vase of flowers; red, white and blue of course, with a metal flag coming up from the center. She also had HUGE patriotic balloon. Attached was a sweet card. What a special friend and Nana for Molly. After we had dinner Aunt Carol came along with her daughter Tammy (Larry’s first cousin), Tammy’s husband Jasper and 2 daughters; Amanda and Autumn. Oh and Amanda’s boyfriend who I don’t think spoke a word. Anyway, they brought fireworks to add to what we had already bought. Oh and they brought the most yummy brownies! They also brought h/m ice cream. Mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm!
Next came the fireworks. Larry and Jasper did the setting up and lighting. We did the watching and picture taking. I was not in the field in the beginning but one of the first rockets that was set off went in the wrong direction and chased the others around. Later, the kids were all sitting in the back of a pick up truck. Me, Beckie, Sean and Zach (Seans friend, our neighbor) were much closer to the activities. Well…It was the next to the last one to be set…Laura and Autumn had walked over to where we were standing…1,000 fireworks went off from this HUGE pack…colors shooting up one after another…HOWEVER…a few of them went a little off track and headed for us! We screamed and ran knocking over lawn chairs! Beckie said I think I got hit. She and I went inside and yep…she had 2 burn marks on her upper arm. I doctored her up. Larry and I felt SO bad.
Everybody left sometime after midnight. We were pooped and dropped into bed.
We were up early the next morning. Good News…The trim in our house is done! A family friend, Jim, came Sat. morning to get started and came back Sun. to finish. He has a full time job and was doing this for us on the side so he had to get it done today. Yeahhh! One BIG project finished. We are getting clooosseerrrrrr! As he worked Larry and I moved furniture out of his way and then back to it’s normal place. We have also cleaned out the storage building behind our house and cleaned in our garage and built a couple shelved in there to tidy things up a bit. We did other stuff too…lots of small jobs.
I am saying this because of the next paragraph. I don’t give last names on my blog for privacy reasons. Also, when it comes to anything involving the military, I will never give dates of deployments, last names, ranks, etc. due to privacy/security reasons. I hope you all understand. When we pray, God knows the details and the exact ones we are praying for.
Prayer request for Tim and Connie; Tim left today for Ft. Riley for training before deploying a few months from now. Of course they are both having a hard time with the separation. Please pray for both of them to have strength through this deployment and for Tim’s safety once deployed.
Also, please pray for the safety of one of Larry’s best friends, Mike, who is in Iraq.

Happy Birthday Momma!

Momma's new purchase! A Honda Civic. They have only had the truck during their travels and since they are settling down she needed a car. So there is her new baby. Oh wait...I'M THE BABY! I might be 36 years old but I am STILL Momma's baby!

Happy Birthday to you…Happy Birthday to you…Happy Birthday dear Momma…Happy Birthday to YOU! Happy Birthday to my Momma! She was born July 2nd 19 something! I know her year of birth but I can’t reveal it because as of now I’m still in the will and I would like to keep it that way!!! I’m JOKING! I love and adore her and I am so thankful that I am her daughter.

Today was a running kids here and there…then another place…and another…etc. kind of day. I’ve taken the kids for lunch a few times and Cat was not with us so today I took Catherine to lunch. I finally made it back home around 3pm. I cut Catherines hair...like 5” off the length and lots of layers. OMG, what a change! Cutting her hair is like doing 2 hair cuts. She has SO much hair! The difference in her is amazing. This is the shortest she has ever had it. I think it looks great and she loves it too. I am SO glad she decided to cut it.

We did a few things around the house then we were off to a make up baseball game for Sean. Oh, it was bad again. Their team is not the best but once again we cheered them on like they were major league quality. Right when the game was over Sean ran to me asking if he could spend the night with his friend Lonnie. About a minute later Laura came to me and said, Olivia (Lonnies sister) wants me to spend the night, can I? So Sean and Laura are off to friends houses which happen to be the same house. Cat wanted to stay and watch a game that some of her friends were playing in. So, Me and Larry took Marissa and headed home. We decided to make a pit stop at Dairy Queen. You know, for Marissa since she was stuck with us. Haha…Larry loves ice cream…that’s the real story. When we got there we saw one of Seans coaches and his family so we sat with them for a while.

Cat and Marissa just came to say goodnight. Missy (Marissa) has come to me 4 times to give night kisses and one of the times she gave me 2. She is sleepy and being loving which is ok. Soon I wont be getting as many hugs and kisses from them.

Since it is night time and I know most of you will read this during the day…Have a blessed day! I love you all!

Tuesday...Just another day? Nope!

Tuesday…ANOTHER busy day in the Parr house!

Larry finished bush hoggin’ the fields and I finished cuttin’ the front and back yard and the area between the house and barn. (Of course IF any of you had actually visited me you would know the areas I am talking about. Only Momma and Cher know.) After Larry finished his part I used the mower to go over a strip that the kids use to go to the neighbors. Finally, all the grass and fields are mowed! YIPPIE!

After dinner, Larry and I hung new lights in our kitchen; one over the table, one over the island and one in front of the fridge area. (hard to explain but again, Momma and Cher knows) Yep, I am going to keep repeating that they are the ONLY visitors we have had from GA. Other than being an Army Officer, Larry is also an electrician…taught by Sparky. Anyway, we were hanging lights and Laura and Catherine came in the kitchen for a snack. Cat kept telling Laura to get her snack and come watch TV. Nope, Laura was not moving. She said, “No, I’m staying for the show. Dad and Kim are funny to watch and they have 2 more lights to go”. She giggled at us forever! I guess we were a little funny but we were SO tired from a long days work and at that point, we just wanted the lights to be installed and workin’! In the mean time, Marissa is at her friend Mirah’s house and Sean is at the neighbors shooting bottle rockets! He was with Noah and Zack and having a great time. Oh my goodness…boys!

Ok, this is not all that went on in our day...the kids went to the community pool, we worked on refinishing Seans bed...oh the list goes on and on. You get the picture...you can relate...there is NO way to relate the activities of everyday life of a family of 6!!!!!

So now I am typing this blog and my sweet, tired husband is sleeping away. My Momma sent me an email earlier so I knew that I had to continue updating the blog. The subject of the email was; Old Age. She said, and I quote, “Well, I’m glad you got enough energy to blog. The last one was your birthday and I thought, ‘she’s gotten too old to write’. She followed it with a Ha Ha but we all know that in “Mother term” that means….”Get off your bootie and let me know what’s goin’ on with my baby, my baby-in-law and my grand babies”! Mothers! That’s all I’m gonna say about that!

I guess it’s time I join my hubby and get some sleep. Tomorrow, I am sure I will have some new info for you and maybe a new saying or quote from the kids.
Coming soon to a computer near you…The 4th of July at the Parr house…AND…a “Parr Fun Day”. On the 6th the kids are going to invite up to 5 friends each and we are going to cook out and have fun with “Water woffle ball ( I know I spelled that wrong), water balloons, lots of food, etc., etc., etc. I will report on the festivities and hope to have a picture or two.

I love you all and I am glad that you keep up with us via our blog.

Love to all from...The Prince and The Peach
