Hail & Farewell

In the Army, when someone leaves an orginazation they have a Hail and Farewell. They Hail (welcome) the new folks and Farewell (say goodbye and best wishes) to the ones leaving. Oh, rewind….Larry was at work and I drove to meet him at the restaurant. On my way I picked up my friend Shelly…Can’t leave her out! Ok, now to finish….Tonight the H&F was in Westin, KS. Larry’s boss is leaving and his heritage is Irish so they had it at an Irish joint called O’Malley’s. This was a unique place to say the least. When you go in the door there are rooms to the left and right that have tables for dining. BUT, if you go down a looong cave like ‘hallway’, it takes you to some very steep stairs. Once you are down the stairs to the left is a large room….well, I don’t think I can call it a “room”…it is more like a cave. The walls are curved toward the ceiling and it is very dark in there. They of course have Irish music playing in the background. Now, to go to the bathroom is another long journey. You go down yet another cave like hallway. There are no windows or doors in the dining area since it is underground. So, if you are afraid of enclosed places, you might want to rethink eating there. The atmosphere made for an interesting evening.

Larry and I left in separate vehicles and talked on the phone the entire 1 ½ hours home. Yes Momma, I had my ear piece in and had both hands on the wheel. Ha!

Kind of a short blog but it's time to call it a night. Goodnight!
