....Rewind

I need to rewind just a bit. I realized that I didn’t talk about our last day in Germany. Well, Larry worked until around 11:30am. I was at the hotel getting ready to go and packing last minute stuff. When he got to the hotel we loaded up our stuff and went for lunch. We walked to a place around the corner from our hotel and shared a sandwich and a pretzel. I wanted him to try the sandwich I had about a week before and we LOVE the pretzel with butter. So we sat outside and shared our lunch. After lunch we began our 3 ½ hr drive to Frankfurt. However, that drive took 5+ hours!!!!! We ran into a traffic jam (in Germany they call it a Stau (Staow). We were at a dead stop. People were getting out of their cars and standing or sitting on the side of the road. The cars ahead of us would begin to move…but only a short distance…then we sat again. This went on for at LEAST 1 ½ hours. Five hours or so later, we finally got to the hotel in Wiesbaden and we were oh so happy! We took our things to the room and headed out to dinner. Wiesbaden is one of our favorite areas and Wiesbaden was my first visit to Germany. We walked to one of our favorite restaurants and had dinner outside under a huge umbrella. In Germany, during the spring and summer, the restaurants have areas to eat outside and that my friend….is the European Way. I LOVE it! During our dinner two men, one playing a sax and one an accordion, began to play on the sidewalk. It was so nice to be eating dinner with my sweet hubby and listening to such awesome music.

We retired to our room kind of early since we had an early flight. That’s okay; we enjoyed the evening, the food, the company and the entertainment. What more could a girl ask for?
